Island Park / West Yellowstone--Snow and Avalanche Information
There are still some areas of powder to carve up.  Trails are a little rough, due to lack of grooming.
However
--Dangerous areas of unstable snow still exist on cold, northerly slopes and on
wind-loaded slopes on any aspect--
in some areas.   Although our snowpack has settled quite a bit
the last week, do NOT be fooled by the seemingly solid slabs--they were continuing to fail this past
week!!  The Reas Peak and Mt. Jefferson areas remain "shaky", with large pillows, chutes and bowls
that could slide.

SUBMIT OBSERVATIONS (click link)--We would appreciate any reports or observations of snowpack or
avalanche activity.  We will try to include your observations in our daily information.
Digital pictures would
also be appreciated.
Important Note
Remember that the daily information presented in this web site is information generated by other sources, and the publisher of this site
does not forecast weather or avalanches.
